This blury picture is a vermillion flycather I caught bathing in the birdbath today.

My 50th Birthday

We spent my 50th birthday visiting a small town south of here called Old Town Spring. Nice shops and cafes and a beautiful garden center run by a nearby farm adults with special needs called The Brookwood Community. (www.brookwoodcommunity.org) Here are some pictures. We had a great time.

Hummer

Had 2 hummers fighting viciously over the feeder this afternoon. Since they were distracted they didn't see me in the window and I got good pictures for the first time.

This one was knocked off by the other one.

Green

Things are turning green in Texas. The wildflowers are all most gone! They were beautiful while they lasted





Front flowerbed is getting slowly filled up.
Supposed to get into the 90's the next few days. So much for spring. Hummer showing up for supper every night. No matter what time we eat, he joins us outside the diningroom window. He came around to the gazebo while I was out there so I may put another feeder out there. Hubbie's got veggies growing well. Looking forward to a "real" 'mater!
