Outdoor Chairs

So the elements and the squirrels have done a real number on my outdoor chairs, and I have not been able to find any pads to replace them with

So I deceided to cover the ones I had even tho they are in bad shape. So now what to use to cover them that won't cost a fortune?

The one on the left a fabric shower curtain I recently replaced that was still in excellect condition and the one on the right is a $3 drape from Tuesday Morning! Not bad!

Bible study class

Since moving to Texas, we have wanted to open our home to host a bible study class. We have talked alot about it and spent time praying about it, too. Before Christmas, we were approched by a teacher we know and we decided on having one the 2nd and 4th Sunday afternoons of each month. We are very excited about it. I wanted to also offer some time of fellowship afterwards so of course, being the southern gal I am, or GRITS (girl raised in the south), this naturally turned my thoughts to FOOD. No respectable GRITS that has had a subscription to Southern Living since birth would have folks over and not feed them, right? Right! So I just kept it simple with a Sour Cream Pound Cake and a cheese ball and cracker plate, coffee and water. Here's a few pictures. For the Cheese Ball receipe, skip over to my Cooking Blog.

Christmas trip to Mississippi 2011

Made a quick to see the grand-darlings the weekend before Christmas. Everyone getting big and we had a great time. It was also Emma's 2nd Birthday.

I brought some little sun-catchers for the kids to make for me and their other grandmothers and they jumped right in and got busy

We spent Christmas weekend at home, sick. Weather was cold and gray and rainy. Some friends from our bible study class came and ate lunch. Quiet but pleasent.

Our company Christmas Party was at the Downtown Houston Aquarium. We toured the fishies and then had dinner. It was a great time.

Garden bench

Had told hubbie I would like a garden bench made of cement for Christmas. He found a neat place down in Houston so we loaed up and away we went. Will post picture of the bench later ~~ we haven't figured out how to unload it yet~kinda heavy. But here are some from the place we bought it
